Blind Senior Dog Is More Than Ready To Find His Forever Family – iHeartDogs.com

No dog deserves to spend their days in a shelter, but life in a kennel is harder on some than others. Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe, TX goes above and beyond to make sure every rescue in their care is as happy as possible, but there’s no substitute to finding a forever family and leaving the shelter for good.

A senior dog named Max is one of the many dogs currently up for adoption at MCAS. At eight years old, this German Shepherd mix is completely blind and had trouble adjusting to shelter life. Thankfully, a loving foster family has welcomed him into their home, but Max is still waiting on that special person to make him a permanent part of their heart. Max was found wandering around a neighborhood and brought in as a stray. When his owners were eventually tracked down, however, they decided to surrender the dog to the shelter.

Confused and unsure about what’s going on in his life, Max is more than ready to start fresh with a family that will love him unconditionally. This sweet senior boy doesn’t let his age or his disability get in the way of enjoying life. He is active and loves to play with his new foster friends and staff at the shelter. He can maneuver his way through the world without his eyesight, but he prefers to let someone else take the lead while he follows.

The ideal home for Max would be somewhere he can be best friends with a fellow canine. He cries when he doesn’t have a four-legged friend in the kennel with him, and he seems to love all dogs and all people. All he needs is someone to love him in return.

Max’s adoption fee ensures he’ll go to his new home already neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and with a microchip. That money will then go toward saving the next dog that comes into the shelter.
