  1. My puppy eats any plastic he can find and he will eat his own poop. If I drop a vegetable he will sniff it, pick it up and spit it out right away. I’ll never understand

  2. My lab/golden x has pica. When he was a puppy, he had surgery to remove a sock he swallowed hole. My vet said he was the youngest dog (he was 6 mths) that she ever did that surgery on. Since then, he's had more close calls (one of my boyfriend's socks, and 3 dog toys from my neighbors house to name a few) that landed him in the emergency vet (luckily he passed them after being hooked up to i.v's). He's puked up everything else he consumed..face cloths, soft dog toys, etc. It was a few very expensive lessons to learn and now my house is spotless..no socks, face cloths, towels, soft dog toys are left out, anywhere. And he no longer is allowed to visit my neighbor's house. I don't regret getting my pooch (he's such a suck!) but I dont think anyone else would pay for or tolerate all the vet visits that were only for his pica. Im looking through these comments hoping someone else had similar experiences! I cant be alone in this, can I?!

  3. We had a back lab who was referred to as "the boxer dog" at the vets and people would look at them in confusion like they had three heads, until they learned why. He got his nickname after eating a pair of my brothers boxer shorts one time while we were out for the day, he was a day away from needing surgery to figure out what was wrong/what he ate when the vets called us to tell us that he finally passed it out the other end almost whole! We were shocked when we saw what it was he had eaten, even more so to discover it had gone all the way through him. He was definitely something else! Miss him every day!
