Who can resist puppies, especially GSD puppies?? I can understand wanting to give calcium during welping to avoid the K9 version of milk fever. However, aren't most GSD adults lactose intolerant? Comsumption of the placenta also aids in the letdown of the Mamma's milk. A handsome litter. Thanks for sharing.
So much for the I.D. Puppy tags! WHO was born first, in between and last? And why is Puppy lady pulling the pups away from the afterbirth, severing the cords by pulling? Cords way too short. Humm? Not how I would of done it ~
One other thing with the ice cream – I don't know if it gives your dog loose stools, but we give our bitches goat's milk, after birth, or sometimes prior to and after labor by putting some on top of their kibble (but nothing crazy). Also, we'll use chicken eggs from our chickens, and we've never had any problems. Last litter was 7 puppies, litter prior was 9 puppies.

We raise Maremma Sheepdogs for working farms/ranches, and I've seen puppies while my bitches were in labor (I have 3 bitches, 2 studs, and one as recently as 3 weeks ago). Crazy how quick they come out. More than once, I've had to play OB/GYN when my dairy goats give birth, and I've probably helped deliver about a dozen so far this Spring. But puppies are fun, especially when they open their eyes/ears after about 3 weeks.
I have a GSD bitch and stud, but neither was ready when my bitch was last in heat (and I'm not in any hurry).
