  1. A Blue Dog Democrat is a Conservative Democrat, and it is where I fall in the political spectrum. The "Country" doesn't want progressive policy to the point that everyone in the middle class is taxed to death. We don't want socialism. Only the very young who don't understand it better want socialism.

I agree with you that people should be paid more but this has been happening in many areas around the country now. However, if they are paid more, then those who have college degrees should also be paid more – probably 1.5-2.0 more…. double. And, those that didn't finish their GED/HS Diploma should make less than the standard wage. I do agree with you that minimum wages should be higher in areas where the cost of living is higher.

Another issue is we have to convince both young men and women that having children they can't afford shouldn't be the burden of the the taxpayers. This doesn't mean we aren't willing to help people get back on their feet. But I plant my foot in the sand on education or work. A person on welfare should be working to get off the system and not having multiple children or proving they are using birth control. This having 4-12 kids and expecting everyone else to foot the bill shouldn't be acceptable.

The reason we pay more and get less in medical is because of the extreme costs and markups of each item and the methods/negotiations used with healthcare companies. Also, we need to incentivize doctors, PA's, ARNP's, RN's, LPN's, MA's etc… by starting community healthcare centers where students can work off the student loans along with a decent wage. For example the other day I went to have a discussion with a specialist about insomnia. The talk was for 1 hour. The bill was over $500 that I have to pay this week.

Guess what – the ACA is failing. It doesn't work. By the way Trump isn't a conservative unless it is in party name only. He is a liberal conservative populist (centrist) who is loyal to his base. However the things he is loyal on are also many (not all) things the Conservative Democrat agrees with as well.

The majority of the people in the USA are Centrists (65-70% fall in the center or slighly 1-2 points left or right of center). So, the Democrats saying they need a Centrist candidate (who is also a person of high moral character, has self respect and some self worth) wouldn't hurt. A Centrist candidate that actually believes and follows this nation of laws also wouldn't hurt. Also, maybe a TRUE Centrist candidate who doesn't follow Saul Alinskys Rules for Radicals would be a good choice. And, chosing a man or a woman of color that is a Vet and has charisma would also go along way. Furthermore, chosing a person in the middle of the spectrum (racially speaking) such as Hawaiian, Guamanian, Asian, Hispanic and maybe a female would also be good.

The Centrist may fall to the left or the right but their goal is to unite and get things done. If a Centrist wants to win, they have to be able to do these things.. The conservative democrat (or the very liberal republican) is representative of the majority of Americans…that is a fact! Why? Well, you have to be fiscally responsible and you also need to have someone who is socially liberal and speaks to the middle of the country and not the extreme conservative or extreme liberal. In accepting social liberalism, these social liberals (such as transgenders) also need to respect the desires of others (such as old ladies in a womens gym locker room) to not have men with penis' swinging around them or in the shower with them, undressing after using the swimming pool with them – or in front of children. What about anothers rights NOT to see that?

And, no, I didn't vote for Trump. But I don't hate him and I don't agree with everything he says and does. I think he could do some good in spite of his character flaws – that is if people would give him the chance. Putting our entire faith in a political candidate is ludicrous. No one person can entirely solve the system of government (house of cards) that currently controls the USA.

  2. If the country is more progressive, and I think it is, primary these regressive bastards out of office. If a fair election is no longer possible then bullets instead of ballots.

  3. Why does nobody have a basic understanding of the payment system and the balance sheet of central banks? Government surpluses drains the money supply, meaning less money is spent back into the economy than taxation.

Also the government is no ordinary household. The government can print money. (In a roundabout way with primary dealers as intermediaries between the government and the central bank.) A government that can issue its own currency is no ordinary borrower. The same restrictions that apply to individuals and households does not apply to the government.

Note that local government cannot print money, only uncle Sam.

Just stop it with the deficit hysteria. It's a fallacy of composition. It's nonsense.

  4. There is a reason that the Blue Dogs got wiped out, and that's because they're not really competitive with Republicans. So it is of no shock to me that they Democrats decided they needed to go in this direction since they love to loose.

  5. They clearly haven't seen the light on anything other then continued failure if all they are planning to do is to continue the policy that made them lose in the first place. I will never forget Chuck Schumer bragging about how easily they will with the election by ignoring democrats to court republicans. Even lab rats will eventually learn from there mistakes, guess it's a little harder to learn the lesson when your being paid not to.

  6. Why is nobody examining the cost/benefit ratio of single-payer health care?  Sure it will cost billions initially, but it will act as an investment, not a sunk cost.  When millions of people have more disposable income because they aren't paying for health care, the country will have far more consumers.  That's what builds an economy.

  7. WOW! Sounds like yet another reason why a 'none of the above' needs to be in the ballot box. It would clearly speak to the disgust many of us are feeling with this corrupted two party system which is so stuck on itself it is blinded to the outrage we feel and it's indifferenceto any concern of the masses who are slowly loosing their will to be goverened by them.
    Idoits. Fu€k 'em. Resist

  8. didnt anyone notice that JOE MANCHIN has been appearing on CNN more and more often ive been watching CNN and its been a few times that if seen this sellout .. CNN is corporate … and maybe they r trying to boost JOE MANCHIN cause they know that hes going to be PRIMARIED … MAYBE THEY R GETTING SCARED

  9. The Democratic Party's minority position is deliberate. They know that winning elections means opening up the party to real reformers, people whose participation in Democratic Party politics threatens boss rule of the party. The party would win elections, but winning elections means the bosses losing control of the party, something they perpetually fight tooth and nail to protect. Not only that but the Democratic Party's minority position means that the Republican Party can do whatever they want, to pass whatever policies they need, to protect boss rule of their own party without fear of losing elections, no matter how destructive those policies are. In other words, the Democratic Party uses its minority status to protect the Republican Party, which is to say, to help the Republican Party bosses protect their control of their own party. The two parties collude to maintain boss rule. Like Walter Karp said, in a competitive relationship, whatever benefits one party hurts the other party and vice versa and whatever hurts one party benefits the other and vice versa, but in a collusive relationship, whatever benefits the bosses of one party (such as disenfranchisement) also benefits the bosses of the other party and vice versa, and whatever hurts the bosses of one party (such as single-payer health insurance) also hurts the bosses of the other party and vice versa, meaning that all the destructive policies carried out by the Republican Party to protect their organization as a boss-ruled organization also protects the Democratic Party as a boss-ruled organization. For instance, the GOP's efforts to disenfranchise citizens with voter suppression policies results in fewer Democratic Party voters from casting ballots which benefits the Democratic Party bosses by maintaining their self-imposed minority status, thereby keeping real challengers and reformers out, thereby keeping the party more tight knit and controllable by the bosses. This is very likely why they are grooming blue dogs: they'll help the party maintain losses.

  10. Fuck blue dogs piles of shit! I am progressive and aggressive Democrat and I approve this message! People we have to get rid off blue dog garbage out of our party once and for all!

  11. This is absurd. They just lost by running to the right again. I can't take this crap anymore. If this is the direction the party goes and progressives fail to overtake the party, I'm sitting the midterms out. I will not support conservative democrats under any circumstance. I'm done being shamed into voting against my values after doing so for over a decade.

  12. The whole theory is bad.You do need a political stand point and a platform, then if people do not agree with you you get fewer votes. The theory that "we run candidates that conforms with what we think the people in that district/state will vote for" means no conviction what so ever only one thing counts. Not policy just winning. So if a state is only Nazis Pelosi would run Hitler?? Well you really have to to win… ??? No educate electorate and try to win on your policys…

  13. You talk as though the GOP didn't have the elections so rigged that there is no chance they could lose control of the government. Rule DESPITE the will of the people,  has already been achieved.

  14. Democrats turning to Bluedogs in 2018, hell I THOUGHT they was doing that every since Bill became president. They never stopped but people had the wool over their eyes when Obama was office.

  15. Here is a short list of blue dogs that lost to a republican for moving to the right. Tom Daschle, Mary Landrieu, Hillary Clinton (R) and Stephanie Herseth Sandlin among many others. When a democrat moves to the right they lose elections. Hillary (R) did that and she lost. Democrats never learn. When you dance with the other guy you went to your last dance. You dance with who brought you, not the other guy. This is why people no longer trust the democratic party. No one gets off the couch to to vote for a blue dog. That is why Hillary (R) lost.

  16. Thanks to money in politics, they soldout! The only way to really take advantage of being soldout is to be on the side of fossil fuels, wars and bomb sales, insurance companies, banks, etc and therefore right of center. HRC and the DNC soldout all the way to right of center before the election which is why they lost progressives, and that was before they sold out democracy itself stealing the primary thru corruption.

  17. The Ro-Bill (that's what I call it) is fucking cold-blooded Progressive Liberalism!! I LOVED IT!! When I heard it, I literally laughed my ass off imagining a small-government, ultra-Conservative, alt-right Republican trying to explain why he's against it!!

  18. Democrats are Dead they are Done…….. We are leaving… The only possible hope Dems could have is if Bernie and his supporters take control back from the Conserva-Dems. We will see.

  19. So, they are running to the right?I will quote the good Truman; If its a choice between a real republican and a republican in democrat clothing, they will vote for the genuine option every time.

  20. Uh, isn't Keith Elison the head of The DNC? I know that's different but is no one saying "bad idea" to the DCCC. . I mean at least we have Justice Democrats and Brand new congress.
