why do you bathe your dog? it's actually really bad for them! with shampoo you destroy the natural barrier on the skin which protects them from dirt, bacteria, cold/hot temperature and water. also you take away her smell which is also very bad because it's the most important thing for dogs. after every bath with shampoo she has to regenerate the barrier on her skin and in that time she is unprotected against all the things I mentioned above. this is no hate I just wanted to tell you that. it isn't necessary to clean dogs (only if they are actually dirty) and if you need to clean her the best way to do it is just with water

I have a suggestion for making the whole process easier (although I realize you may not need it, but thought I'd share anyways just in case) – a body brush! I use a (person) back/body brush from Target with the long handle, and it makes it both faster and easier to get all around my boy's body without so much maneuvering. It really helps on days I don't physically feel up to the task but he needs it done. 🙂
i work at a dog grooming salon…i would agree with the nail clipping part…for dogs with dark nails, it's hard because those with lighter nails u can see where the nails end so that you don't over cut and have them bleed. bleeding happens a lot, for those doing it at home, you can use cornstarch to help stop the bleeding a bit (it was also suggested by vets). Lots of dogs hate getting their nails trimmed because of those bad experiences….even me XD when i was little, my parents would cut my nails and one time cut my skin…that point on i started cutting my own nails XD
You want the tip of your thumb to rest on the scissor grip. Holding it that way is bad for your hand. Also I know a dremel is a little noisy, but considering how well you groom her nails, you may find it’s easier. It’s easier to get the nail short without Quicking her nail. If you decide to get one get the smallest version possible.
Is it a bad thing that I want like 6 different breeds of dogs? One including a golden, and all of the ones I want are ‘giant’ or ‘big’ dogs. Also those pig ears stink so much!! My mom gives them to our dogs and the more they chew them it stinks more and I have to go outside because it smells so horrendous?btw I love Percie she is such a beauty!

I work as a dog bather, and I would invest in a dremel, it basically sands down the nail, it gets the nail shorter than nail clippers do. Also nail clippers usually hurt the dog because the nail is thick and it can sometimes crack the nail.
For the feet try brushing the hair up from between to toes to trim it. You will get a more uniform look on her foot. Also a cheap hair clippers with a 10 blade for paw pads gets closer and is safer than shears. If your only doing feet brand doesnt matter much but i defanetly recomend a ceramic blade.
Does Percy love to swim? Curious because my retriever loves to swim but really isn't the biggest fan of baths either, doesn't resist but you can tell she would rather be doing anything else lol gorgeous coat on her ! So cute 🙂

Try mixing the shampoo and some water in a different bottle. Makes it way easier and quicker to apply shampoo all over
